The bright idea view.

This Little Light Of Mine

I have been told that as a baby, I was plopped in the kitchen floor while Mother
worked at the counter. I found sugar that had been spilled on the floor and proceeded to
lick the sweet off of both hands as fast as I could go. [There is prophecy for that: Isaiah
7: 15&16]. Ever since then I have had a sweet tooth and a problem with self control.
My present problem is replacing a 100 watt light bulb. The choice is between a 23
watt florescent or a 75 watt incandescent. About then I noticed a shoppers guide that
suggested that I “might prefer indirect lighting so that the bulbs are mostly hidden from
view and all you see is the light, not the source.” Hummmmmmmmmm.
Brothers that will preach! If I do not appear to be the source then our LORD
JESUS gets the praise and glory. Please let me tell you a story concerning alms giving
that falls way outside any piramiter of self control or letting ones light shine that I have
ever dreamed of.

John 3:21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made
manifest, that they are wrought in God.
Our good deeds, or lack thereof, are of what the world takes note. The world finds
so much fault with done deeds or undone deeds that about 40 years ago I decided to not
defend or make excuse for myself. As Paul said: “I am what I am.”

Yesterday I learned something new about an intended good deed. May I share it
with you? There is something odd about intended good deeds, I learned it as a teenager.
No matter what you do do or do not do—the devil is going to point out to you that you
did it wrong. That was when I embraced Paul’s theology. This goes double for alms
giving because you fear that you might be helping a drunkard buy more whiskey, for
example. All the above was on my mind yesterday when I did something-then GOD did
something- then, well, let me back up to the beginning of what I call my “getting rolled
by a wheelchair” story.

Last Tuesday I was eating a chocolate malt lunch in a warm restaurant when I
noticed a man in a wheelchair coming down the side street. He would often stop to rest
and it looked like he had a cardboard sign. I watched as he rolled up to the corner, and
parked facing traffic. It was a cold, windy day so my bowels of compassion growled as I
watched him out there.

I took a bill out of my billfold and slid it into a pocket. [Advice from the police:
don't open your purse or wallet in front of panhandlers. If they attack you or threaten
you-throw the money one way and you run the other way.] I went to talk to him instead
of going to my warm truck. I wanted to get close enough to him to smell his breath.
Then I noticed where he had come from- a pain clinic.

He did not have a sign. It was an x-ray of his spine from his primary care doctor.

My heart went out to him and the denomination of the bill in my pocket burned, burned,
burned. His story was that he was waiting on transportation after being laughed at and
ridiculed by a woman doctor at the clinic. She refused to take him as a patient and said
that he should not even need a wheelchair.

The man in the wheelchair was speaking in a normal voice and was not whining.
Then he paused and looked at me. “Are you homeless?” He took off his gloves and
handed them to me. “You don’t have any gloves, here take these.”

I refused his offer and was speechless. I mumbled something about praying for his
spine to be healed so the pain would be gone. Then after I got back in my warm truck
and drove away, I thought about the wheelchair man out in the cold and the bill in my
pocket that was burning, and burning, and burning.

The next day I got a haircut and promised my self not to look so scruffy in 2012. I
am still undecided: Do you offer an angel a tip after he serves you?

A fruit bearing view.

Fruit Basket Turn Over

On Christ Day Eve I dreamed that a gift basket of delicious fruit was picked up
from a banquet table and turned over. The dead ripe, at the peak of its flavor and
nourishment, fruit* scattered up and down the table that was set up for a feast. From one
end of the table to the other, and some even on the floor, the fruit was displayed in its
glory as it was released from the confines of the basket.
When I sought the LORD for the interpretation, the Transfiguration story came to
mind. I have read it often but in my dream I was overhearing the subject of the
discussion.
At least I heard some of the dialog. Moses, Elijah, and JESUS were discussing how
much the worship liturgy of GOD’s chosen people had changed from the garden, to the
day of the tabernacle in the wilderness and the day of Elijah’s school of the prophets,
then came the glory days of the Temple on Mt. Zion. Next the long period of the
synagog tradition of the elders. The Lord was teaching that His death on the cross was
for “who-so-ever will”, before and after the death, burial, and resurrection.
My revelation concerns the variety of the fruit and that some fruit was judged to
be naughty by the other fruit. The types of the liturgy that was set in place by GOD;
has changed as the centuries roll on.

Liturgy Changes
Abel to Patriarchs -An offering of the firstling of the flock-with the fat
Abraham’s gift to the class of judge\prophet\ priests-after the order of Melchizedek
Tabernacle in wilderness to David’s tabernacle that will be rebuilt
Solomon’s temple to the deportation
Synagogs to present [to todays social club temples]
From the Cross & the Church of 1 century, to the Orthodox church, to the
Protestant church Denominations through he 20th century, to home churches and the 21st
century fruit basket upset; where do we go from here? Methinks the church+ coffee
house+ nightclubs all on the same campus, of our generation.

An essential view.

IN TOUCH WITH TOUCH

In the natural creation, chemistry is divided into 2 compartments: Organic and
Inorganic. In the supernatural creation: the living and the dead. All of the organic
compounds on earth have the element “carbon” in them. From germs to giants, in the
natural, all animals have carbon in them. All of the carbon on earth now, has come from
another living plant or animal; the supernatural First Cause of creation- if you can
receive it.
Let us begin with a definition that we may use to make a devision in the animal
kingdom, between all of the other animals and mankind.
1 Humans are the only animals that can conceive of and pull off a pun.
2 Humans are the only animals that can laugh at a pun.
3 Humans are the only animals that wither and die without therapeutic touch.
This change is most evident in the human brain, being the lifestyle of Romans 1: 18-32.

Compassionate Touch

In James 5:14, the elders are authorized to lay hands on the sick when they prey
for them. The anointing with oil could be a therapeutic message or it could be an act of
obedience that brings healing by a drop touched onto the forehead. The Samaritan who
found a wounded, naked man beside the road and ministered to him is one of the best
known stories in the Bible. The healing began there beside the road with the oil and the
wine. A compassionate touch by a good news minister has to be a healing art that rivals
any M.D. in a modern practice.
More than one time a therapeutic kiss is mentioned in scripture. The story of the
prodigal son returning home to received a hug and a kiss from his father is the catalyst
for this paper.

An underwater view.

When Are The Bells?

In hell? I don’t think so. I say that because as I meditated beside a spring brook, I
nodded off and dreamed a dream about bells. Before I tell my dream, let me say that
when I woke up—the bubbles in the spring on the Maryville Greenway, rose to the
surface and popped, or I should say pealed. I was hearing bells. I was seeing bells. I was
feeling bells. I was enveloped by the tinkling of the bells. The bells were singing and
saying: Our GOD is moving!

25And they made bells of pure gold, and put the bells between the pomegranates
upon the hem of the robe, round about between the pomegranates; 26A bell and a
pomegranate, a bell and a pomegranate, round about the hem of the robe to minister in;

In my dream I was seeing the High Priest put on the special garments that were
only used one time a year—to take the blood of the lamb into the HOLY of HOLIES.
Instead of fringes around the hem of the robe, there were golden bells. When the High
Priest moved— the bells pealed. Outside the curtain those who were allowed to wait on
the LORD, knew that GOD was moving because they could hear the tinkle, tinkle.
John 1:12 But to all who did received HIM
HE gave them the right to become children of GOD
to those who believe in HIS name,
There on the Greenway, I would not say that the bells behind the curtain were
pealing; on the contrary the sound was faint, I could not even say that I could hear a
tinkle— but there was more of a rustle. The priest was moving. GOD was moving!
By faith I know that on the mercy seat the blood of the lamb has been shed for
you and for me. We call the pendulum inside the bell, the clapper.
The Rabbi called it: The heart of the bell. How long oh LORD until we hear you heart?

HOW ART CIVILIZED THE ANCIENTS

Jeremiah 18 1The word which came to Jeremiah from the
LORD, saying, 2Arise, and go down to the potter’s house,
and there I will cause thee to hear my words. 3Then I
went down to the potter’s house, and, behold, he wrought
a work on the wheels. 4And the vessel that he made of clay
was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again
another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.

Here I understand that the potter is Father GOD. Thinking of our GOD as an artist
opened up to me an awesome thought in my understanding. Because we are created in
His image, humans are able to see beauty in the natural and to be able to imagine or
recognize a beautiful image in our mind. Is not art appreciation the start of civilization?
The doing of the work of art is our creation; be it photography, painting, sculpturing,
etc. A “bridge” if you can see it: between humans and the beasts.
The best news is that we are allowed to ask for and receive inspiration for our art
work and even supernatural skill to produce and perfect that which is a figment in our
imagination. My revelation is that during the middle ages those with only ordinary skills
were inspired to design and build magnificent church buildings, paint the objects of our
worship on the walls and ceilings for the edification of illiterate parishioners, and
compose and play or sing worship music that transports even the tone deaf to lofty
places of communion with Deity.
Exhibit A is the tabernacle in the wilderness that was given by GOD to the sons of
men with slave mentality to civilize them. GOD’s glory to be manifest in the material
fabrication on earth of a supernatural temple in the New Jerusalem that would model the
beauty of art in a multitude of perfected forms. And the best news is that craftsmanship
for the project was a supernatural impartation.

1And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 2See, I have called by name Bezaleel
the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah: 3And I have filled him with the
spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner
of workmanship, 4To devise cunning works ……6…I have given wisdom and in the
hearts of all that are wise hearted I have put wisdom, that they may make all that I have
commanded thee;

The Veil Remains In Place
The invitation for today is to press through the veil that was rent but not removed. For centuries the High Priest [the most dignified and prestigious job on earth], had to put on his high priestly garment, get down on his belly; and mooning the traditions of men in the outer court- wiggle his way underneath the veil between the Holy place and The Most Holy Place.

Methinks this metaphor was a type of “the law that would pass on” [not be done away with], and be metamorphosed into the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus.

Called the HOLY GHOST in the KJV and the HOLY SPIRIT in newer translation,
the apostle John, the beloved, in his writing of 5 Bible books, called Him in the Greek language: The PARACLETE. Meaning: “called beside or called alongside to help”. I like that !
My revelation is that a parachute can save the life of one cast out of an airplane if the ripcord is pulled and the air walker is high enough for the chute to open. When the parachute is not needed for it’s intended purpose it is kept in storage or in tight quarters, the airman keeps it on his body usually setting on it. Hummmmmmmmmm or stop and think about that. Methinks this is a type of the OT deeds done by The PARACLETE.

The PARACLETE, PARA CHURCHES, Etc.

In this last daytime, we understand from the Gospels in the NT and from the backsliding Hebrews’ behavior in the OT; humans need a schoolmaster or a nanny or a Texas Ranger or as a slave shackle to Him or what ever you want to call Him*— to keep us on the conference line to be able to hear what ABBA FATHER is saying to The LAMB of GOD and what LAMB of GOD is saying to ABBA FATHER.
Now if we know our own heart we know the mischief that can come forth at any time. If we see it in ourselves and in other good Christians, how much more does The Paraclete inside us notice and call it to our attention that we might repent and make restitution. Plus we often give HOLY SMOKE leave to show us the way of escape or how to use our gifting in ministry.
That said, I am asking The Paraclete to teach me why para church ministries are so important in bringing the Kingdom of heaven to earth while being such a chore and at the same time a joy to those called and anointed to led them.

*The most important step that I ever took to partake of the “power” that Acts 1:8 promises, was to go into my schoolroom durning summer vacation and write on the blackboards around 2 sides of the room: “HOLY SPIRIT is a person.” It took 2 or 3 days as I remember from 50 years ago. Also as I remember: I never ever again thought of The HOLY SMOKE as an “it”.
