CHURCH HISTORY as seen from the rocking chair on by back porch.
I can only speak about 1934 to the present- so pull up a rocker, fasten your seat belt, and
put you brains in gear, because- “We are off in circles.”
When I was in high school we would have dances in the gym once a month. They
were called square dances [I warned you to fasten your seat belt]. But they were really
dancing in a circle as the caller always began with “Circle up 4 and off we go. Chicken
in the bread pan pecking at the dough!”
Now the way I read church history and tradition-after the apostles carried out their
commission and passed on- with only “word of mouth” WORD for the most part to
guide them; the 2nd century church continued to grow. Even as many were killed for
believing! Why would they die for their faith?
Why? I think it was because of circles: Prayer circles.
